Although wildlife is undoubtedly the area’s biggest drawcard, the Mpumalanga (place of the rising sun) province offers so much more and it’s why we’ve broadened our safari portfolio to share some of the best activities on offer with you. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, or a little more laid-back, there’s something that’s sure to inspire.

Scenic Panorama Tour

The magnificent Panorama Route in Mpumalanga is best known for its cultural heritage and its dramatic landscapes. A full day tour will take you to the breath-taking Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and one of the most beautiful waterfalls of the region.


Endangered Wildlife Tour

Experience an enthralling behind the scenes look at animal conservation when you visit the world-renowned Rehabilitation Centre. In the shadow of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province Lowveld of South Africa, this is a unique conservancy. Wildlife is brought from all corners of South Africa, and once healthy enough are re-introduced into their natural environments. We also visit the Endangered Species Foundation for an open vehicle tour.


Sabi Sand Private Reserve: Night Safari with Dinner.

Safaris are led by experienced guides in open vehicles. As the sun sets it’s time for sundowners in the bushveld whilst listening to the sounds of the nightlife. A typical South African dinner included. Drinks are available at the cash bar.


Quad Bike Trails

Quad biking adventure trails through the most scenic Sabie River Valley will exceed all your expectations. The tracks vary from technical to very easy, so we have something to offer the expert as well as the beginner! Halfway we have a quick stop for refreshments before we get back to serious Quad Biking. 1, 2 & 4 hour trails. Kiddies Quads – Lots of fun and laughter for the little ones! Total of 6 laps.


Geckoiing – one of the best adventure activities

This is probably the best way to descend a low volume river like the Sabie. A Gecko is a very small raft that you steer with webbed gloves, no paddles needed! It is very easy to steer and very safe, and one of the coolest ways to have fun with family and friends in the sun and water! Children welcome from 12 years. Duration: 2.5 hours. Winter: 11h00; Summer: 08h30 and 13h00.


Abseiling – for the thrill seeker!

Face your fears and step over the edge into oblivion…Abseiling is commonly practiced the world over as a method of descending a rope in a safe and controlled manner. This abseil experience takes place at Mkhuhlu, a 27m high granite rock face overlooking the Kruger Park. It’s the ideal abseil venue, with an easy hike up the back of the cliff and a vertical drop at the front. Great rock formations and breath-taking views add spice to this adrenalin-packed experience. A minimum of four required, children from 12+ years only. Time: 08h30 & 13h30 – 4 Hours.


Aerial Cable Trail

“Experience the thrill of Africa’s longest aerial cable trail”. One for the adrenalin junkies – glide over one of the last remaining natural forested valleys along the Sabie River adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

The aerial cable trail takes you down into the valley basin, stopping along the way on a number of elevated platforms to admire the natural vegetation, birdlife and the views of the forest floor below.

Each section of the trail varies in length from 70 to 230 meters linking a total of 10 platforms, making this the longest cable trail in Africa (1,2km). The tour takes approx. 2 ½ hours to complete.


White Water Rafting – Sabie River:

Enjoy the spectacular scenery and the rush of rapids. Life Jackets and helmets and all other safety equipment are provided. A picnic meal on the banks of the river can be arranged on request (Min 10 people).

Children are welcome depending on the water level. The Sabie River is one of the cleanest river systems in the country. It has a diverse fish population and offers prolific bird life. A great opportunity to get close to the many bird species that inhabit the riverine area.


River Rafting

Join us for a memorable experience along the river through the natural bush of the Sabie River Valley. With experienced guides and approved equipment this is an excellent family activity. (Minimum age is 5 – subject to water levels.) 09h00, 12h00 & 14h30, 7 days a week for approximately 1 ½ hours.


Early Morning, Midday & Late Afternoon Elephant Interaction + Ride

Sunset Elephant Back Ride. In the late afternoon, with a comfortable stable in mind and a good meal waiting, the elephants delight in heading for home. Enjoy this afternoon amble with them; walk or saddle-up and enjoy the view from high above the trees. Complete a magical experience with a sundowner drink and snack while listening to their sounds as they settle down to sleep.


Helicopter Adventures

Have your camera ready for spectacular photographic opportunities! This is an exhilarating flight that swoops over deep and mysterious gorges, lingering above roaring rivers and cascading waterfalls.


Hot Air Balloon Flights, Hoedspruit

Experience the magic of lighter-than-air flight near the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment. We offer one-hour long flights over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River, 15 km West of Hoedspruit.

The terrain is a mixture of farmland, private nature reserves and wildlife estates. The mountains to the South and West provide shelter from the prevailing winds, thereby affording us good flying weather on most days.

As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you’re lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but on most flights we see plains game like giraffe and wildebeest.
